COVID-19 worldwide round-up

KUWAIT, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- Nations continue to record more cases and deaths related to COVID-19, their governments' daily updates revealed on Sunday.
Morocco recorded 4,661 cases and 115 deaths related to COVID-19 as of today, putting the total number at 11,792 deaths and 810,949 for cases.
The Health Ministry's data shows that the rate of recoveries is at 89.3-percent including 7,641 recently recovered, while hospitalized cases are still high at 74,612 with 2,467 in the ER as 77 of them under ventilating machines. A press statement by Algiers Health Ministry said it had recently recorded 20 deaths and 412 new cases, accumulating deaths to 5,004 and 191,583 cases, while 37 patients receive treatment in the ER, and collectively 129,950 have recovered (395 as of today). The Health Ministry in Ankara also established that 206 deaths and 18,622 cases have been logged as of today in Turkey, while 13,263 have recovered. As for vaccinations, 88.7 million have been vaccinated of which more than 35 million have received 2 doses and 7.6 with three dosages. In Greece, WHO gave a statement showing 33 deaths and 1,948 new cases setting the new total on the country's records to 13,384 deaths and 559,186 COVID cases. Amidst dire protests in Paris, the French Health Ministry indicated that 17,300 new cases of the virus were recorded today, alongside 44 deaths, as the mandatory vaccination card is being opposed by a large sum of individuals. The Health Ministry in Bahrain posted 97 new cases and 133 recovered patients earlier today, putting the country with 269,260 totally recovered. kt.aq
