China: 96 new COVID-19 cases, no deaths

BEIJING, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- China, on Sunday, reported 96 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections, 81 local ones, in the last 24 hours. No deaths occurred.
The National Health Commission was quoted by the Xinhua news agency as saying that the tally of infections reached 93,701. Deaths remained at 4,636.
The tally of recoveries hit 87,558 with the discharge of 33 people within the last 24 hours, revealed the commission, adding that 1,507 were still receiving treatment.
On July 20th, the Chinese authorities recorded clusters of the coronavirus appearing in various cities, districts, and provinces. (end) mab.gta
