LONDON, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- A British security agency confirmed Wednesday a hijack attempt of oil tanker Asphalt princess in Gulf of Oman has ended and the vessel was secured.
Ministry of Defense's UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), in a brief statement on its website, that "boarders have left the vessel. Vessel is safe. Incident complete."
A British security source told Sky News yesterday eight or nine armed persons were believed to have boarded Asphalt Princess near Fujairah, UAE.
Western media reports said yesterday that four commercial vessels lost control near Fujairah. (end)
