Kuwait lists 805 new COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths

KUWAIT, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's daily coronavirus cases rose by 805 to 399,343 as deaths increased by 11 to 2,339, the health ministry said on Monday.
Another 1,289 people were cured of the virus, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 386,690, ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdallah Al-Sanad said in a statement.
The number of people hospitalised with the virus currently stands at 866, with 288 of them in intensive care units, he added, revealing that another 10,314 are receiving regular treatment.
Some 13,951 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 3,430,973, mentioned the official.
He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. (end) mrf.sd
