Kuwait Amir receives WHO Director General

KUWAIT, July 28 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah receives Wednesday at Bayan Palace Health Minister Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah, along with visiting World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus and his accompanying delegation.
During the reception, His Highness the Amir praised WHO's leading role in promoting health and safety, as well as efforts in facing the COVID-19 pandemic, and diseases in general, reaffirming at the same time continued and close cooperation with the Organization, in manifestation of Kuwait's pioneering humanitarian role.
For his part, Dr. Ghebreyesus expressed sincere appreciation to His Highness the Amir and the State of Kuwait for the pioneering humanitarian role in supporting the Organization, terming its contribution as "effective".
The reception was attended by chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Saud Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan and His Highness the Amir's Office Director Ahmad Al-Fahad. (end) sam
