Countries update on COVID-19 fatalities, infections

KUWAIT, July 26 (KUNA) -- Several countries on Monday updated their new COVID-19 deaths and infections over the past 24 hours.
South Korea reported 1,318 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country's total caseload to 190,166, said Yonhap News Agency.
The daily caseload has remained above the 1,000 threshold since July 7, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said, adding that there were four more COVID-19 deaths, raising the toll to 2,077.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Ministry of Health registered six coronavirus-related deaths and 39 new infections.
Total deaths went up to 16,487 and registered infections topped 284,024 people, as total recovered cases reached 227,612, Ministry Spokesman Dr. Khaled Mujahed said.
Elsewhere, Indian government authorities said that 416 people succumbed to COVID-19 as 39,361 new positive cases were reported.
Deaths due to COVID-19 mounted to 420,967 while total positive cases rose to 31,411,262, Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said, pointing out that 30,579,106 people recuperated from the pandemic.
Russia recorded 727 additional COVID-19 deaths and 23,239 new infections, as overall infections increased to 6,149,780 cases and the death toll hit 154,601, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said in a statement.
Additionally, the total number of healed cases went up to 5,506,834 after adding 16,200 fresh recoveries, it pointed out. (end) mk.ms.atk.as.lr
