Southeast Asian nations, Iraq, Lebanon update COVID figures

KUWAIT, July 25 (KUNA) -- Six Southeast Asian nations, in addition to Iraq and Lebanon, provided their daily COVID-19 statistics on Tuesday, with the figures showing a rise in infections numbers based on official government data.
Malaysia said its total count has reached 1,013,428 cases, while the death toll there stands at 7994, health ministry stats showed, while Indonesia said its cumulative total 3166505, with total fatalities at 83,279.
Thailand said its COVID-19 cases rose by 15335 over the past 24 hours, taking its caseload to 497,302 while some 129 more people succumbed to virus in the same period to raise its death toll to 4,059.
In the Philippines, health authorities reported a one-day count of 5479 COVID-19 cases and 93 virus-induced deaths, upping the total numbers to 1548755 and 27224 respectively.
Cambodia said its daily coronavirus its caseload amounted to 72923 and death toll to 1283, health ministry data showed.
In Vietnam, some 94,913 people have contracted the virus to date, 370 of whom have died, the health ministry said.
Iraq said its total case count is at 1552648 and death toll reached 18287, while Lebanon's total cases are at 555302 and fatalities reached 7,892. (end) mg.nam
