Countries around globe update COVID-19 tallies

KUWAIT, June 5 (KUNA) -- A number of countries across the globe on Saturday declared their deaths, infections and recoveries of the coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours.
Germany said that it had recorded 122 coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths and 2,294 infections in the last 24 hours.
According to Robert Koch Institute (RKI), COVID-19's death toll climbed to 89,148, while the total infections reached 3,697,927.
In India, Indian health authorities said that 3,380 people died due to COVID-19 as 120,529 positive cases were registered from different parts of the country in the last 24 hours. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that deaths due to COVID-19 mounted to 344,082 while the total positive cases rose to 28,694,879. According to the Indian health ministry, 26,795,549 people recuperated from the pandemic as the second wave hit the nation unprepared.
Meantime, total infections of coronavirus cases in Belgium increased to 1,068,406 with 1,449 new infections reported by Belgian health authorities.
Nineteen more deaths from COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours by the authorities raising the total death toll to 25,014.
Russia announced 9,145 new coronavirus cases and 399 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The total number of cases rose to 5,117,274 and deaths to 123,436, the health authorities said in a statement.
In Austria, the total of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections reached 646,438 after 271 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, said the Health Ministry Thursday.
A statement by the ministry indicated that the number of deaths stand at 10,636.
Recoveries reached over 630,000, added the ministry. (end) kt.aa
