Morocco recalls envoy to Spain after row over migrants' influx to Ceuta, Melilla

MADRID, May 18 (KUNA) -- Morocco on Tuesday recalled its ambassador to Spain Karima Benyaich for consultation in the wake of a row over a massive influx of "illegal" migrants from Morocco to Ceuta and Melilla cities.
Morocco's news agency (MAP) quoted a diplomatic source as saying that Morocco decided to recall its envoy for consultations with no further details.
The move came after Spain's foreign ministry had summoned Benyaich earlier in the day regarding the massive entry of thousands of "illegal" Moroccan and African migrants to Ceuta and Melilla over the past two days.
Meanwhile, migrants' influx to the two cities is ongoing in a bid to reach Europe, according to local media. (end) mry.maa.hm
