Arab League chief warns Houthi attacks target oil supplies

CAIRO, March 8 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul-Gheit on Monday renewed condemnation of Houthi militias' attacks on Saudi Arabia, warning that the Yemeni militias were trying to hamper crude oil supplies to the world market.
"Houthi escalations have targeted the largest oil shipping port in the world endangering oil supplies" to the world market, Abul-Gheit said alluding to some of the latest attacks launched by the militiamen, entrenched in neighboring Yemen.
He urged the international community to put greater pressure on the Houthis and the powers behind them." Meanwhile, Chairman of the Arab Parliament Adel Al-Asoumi denounced the Houthi attack, with a booby-trapped drone, that targeted oil tankers in Ras Tanura in the east of the kingdom, as well as facilities of the oil conglomerate, Aramco, in Al-Dhahran.
