France registers 322 COVID-19 deaths, 26,788 infections

PARIS, March 3 (KUNA) -- France on Wednesday declared 322 new mortalities due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 26,788 infections over the past 24 hours.
The death toll and total cases have climbed to 87,542 and 3,810,316 respectively, the French ministry of health said in a statement.
Last Thursday, French Prime Minister Jean Castex affirmed the deterioration of epidemiological situation due to the COVID-19 and the rise in the number of cases over the past few days.
He voiced concern about the situation because of the spread of the British strain of the virus that now makes up nearly half of the total infections in France. (end) mjz.sam.hm
