Kuwait PM: New gov't keen on cooperating with parliament

KUWAIT, March 3 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah stressed his newly-formed government's keenness to embody the desired cooperation with the National Assembly to achieve the country's advancement.
This came as the cabinet took the oath before His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, whereby His Highness the prime minister welcomed the newly-appointed ministers and thanked them for their acceptance of their roles at this stage with its various challenges.
In turn, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, on behalf of the ministers, expressed his gratitude to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister for their trust.
In light of the Committee of Prisoners and Missing Persons' announcement that they identified the remains of eight missing Kuwaiti persons since the Iraqi invasion in 1990 through DNA tests, the cabinet expressed condolences to the martyrs' families.
The cabinet was then briefed about the situation surrounding efforts to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic by the Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah.
Furthermore, the cabinet called on all citizens and residents to fully adhere to health requirements to limit the spread of the pandemic.
The cabinet also shed light on the recent regional and global political developments, where it expressed concern over the continued Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.
It also stressed Kuwait's solidarity with the Kingdom for all measures it takes to preserve its security and stability. (end) asa.aa
