ROME, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- Italy on Sunday reported 198 COVID-19 deaths; the lowest daily since October 30 of last year, bringing total mortalities since the outbreak of the pandemic to 97,699.
Italy's ministry of health further reported 17,455 new infections in the same period, taking the tally to 2.92 million, the ministry added in a statement.
The number of recoveries rose by 6,847 to a little over 2.4 million, it noted. (end)
