Kuwait lists 962 new COVID-19 cases, five deaths

KUWAIT, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait said 962 people tested positive for coronavirus with five related deaths reported on Monday taking the total cases up to 190,852 as deaths rose to 1,083 respectively, according to the health ministry.
The number of people hospitalised with the virus currently stands at 10,560, with 156 of them in intensive care units, he added, revealing that some 6,423 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,784,449, spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told a press conference.
The ministry also reported earlier that 1,012 more people have been cured of the virus, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 179,209.
He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. (end) mrf.sam
