KUWAIT, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi congratulated on Wednesday the Kuwaiti leadership and people on the advent of the 60th National Day and 30th Anniversary of Liberation.
In a press release, Al-Mutairi, also head of the permanent committee for national celebrations and occasions, congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, wishing them all good health and pleasant national celebrations.
Minister Al-Mutairi affirmed that this year's celebration was the first in the era of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince, adding that Kuwaitis would like to take a chance to renew their loyalty to the country's leadership and people via boosting sentiments of patriotism and belonging to the motherland.
Since independence in 1961, Kuwait leadership and people had on development and welfare for all both Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis, said minister Al-Mutairi.
All efforts by the leadership and people had put Kuwait on the map of well-respected nations; revealed Al-Mutairi who stressed that Kuwait will continue to promote issues dear to the Arab and Islamic nations through every possible regional and international platforms.
He indicated that the jewel of Kuwait's efforts came in 2014 as the country was named by the UN as a hub for humanitarian efforts and also His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as a world humanitarian leader.
On current developments concerning the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Al-Mutairi urged citizens and residents alike to follow health regulations to prevent the spread of this menace especially during Kuwait's joyous occasions.
Minister Al-Mutairi called on the youth to look forward to the future to consolidate Kuwait's status among nations and contribute to its development and progress. (end)
