KUWAIT, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to China Samih Hayat said Monday a high-ranking Chinese official will start a visit to Kuwait on Tuesday, during which he will deliver a message from Chinese President Xi Jinping to the political leadership regarding bilateral ties.
In a statement to KUNA, Hayat added that the visit of Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China's (CPC) Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs, at the head of a high-level delegation to Kuwait, is a vital addition to Chinese diplomacy to to joining hands with Kuwaiti diplomacy in strengthening and consolidating strategic ties between both countries at all fields for 50 years.
Yang's visit is one of the ongoing visits of consultation and coordination between both countries' officials, which will further strengthen the distinguished relations, and will achieve many results due to good planning in advance.
Bilateral talks between them will be profound with limitless strategic dimensions in all aspects of cooperation and various fields, Hayat pointed out.
There is a previous and vital harmony between the Kuwait 2035 Vision and the Belt and Road Initiative to revive the Silk Road and establish a vital trade zone serving the countries of the world by air and sea, plus contributing to the prosperity of the global economy, which resulted in signing several agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), that reached 60, he mentioned.
Hayat commended the joint statement issued in July 2018 on strengthening the comprehensive strategic ties, underscoring that this would open opportunities, prospects, as well as new areas of cooperation between Kuwait and China in the next stage that will benefit the interests of their people.
