KUWAIT, Feb 10 (KUNA) --

1971 -- The third Legislative Session of the National Assembly (parliament) opens. Khaled Al-Ghunaim elected as speaker. The Session concludes on January 8th, 1975.
2002 -- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) establishes Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) to replace the Arab oil company with the task of managing the divided zone between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
2009 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah decorates President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with Mubarak Al-Kabeer medal in appreciation of his efforts to cementing bilateral relations.
2010 -- Amiri decree is issued on a law, which regulates the private and oil sectors' operations. The document consists of 150 articles and clarifying memos overseeing the work of employees within the sectors.
2010 -- Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Cardiac Center opens in the capital health district.
2012 -- Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) received Bahrah, a tanker designed to transport crude oil and by-products, from Daewoo ship building company.
2014 -- Municipal Council agrees to name the new city project north of Mutlaa area after His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
2016 -- Kuwait wins the world summit award for best comprehensive smart application, as part of the fourth world summit for governments held in Dubai, UAE.
2016 -- Ministry of Public Works signs KD-108-million deal to develop the fifth ring road. The project adds six free intersections and develops the 21.2-kilometers road, increasing lanes to four and serves areas located west of the highway.
2017 -- Kuwait national team wins the fifth Gulf fencing tournament held in Bahrain after securing wins in all of the competition's single categories.
2020 -- British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) chooses chairman of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Ali Al-Ghanem as honorary President. (end) gta
