Egypt certain EU will continue supporting Palestinians

CAIRO, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukry on Wednesday expressed his confidence the European Union would continue supporting the Palestinian cause at various levels.
The Europeans will continue backing the Palestinian people via various channels including the UN agency for refugees, the UNRWA, said Shukry, cited by a statement, during a meeting with Susanna Terstal, the EU Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process.
The meeting was latest of a chain of activities by Egypt to try pave way for a new round of talks between the Palestinians and Israelis.
Shukry apprised Terstal of the intensive efforts, exerted by Cairo for sake of jump-starting the peace process.
For her part, Terstal briefed the Egyptian minister about the European perspective to revive the negotiating process. (end) aff.rk
