Kuwait lists 580 COVID-19 cases Wed. No deaths

KUWAIT, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait listed 580 new COVID-10 cases and zero virus-related deaths on Wednesday.
The figures took the caseload to 162,862, while deaths remained at 957, the health ministry said.
The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 6,166 with 44 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, who revealed that some 11,419 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of around 1.5 million.
The ministry had earlier reported that some 436 more people had been cured from the virus over the past day, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 155,739.
He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. (end) mrv.hb
