Palestinians suffer 5 deaths due to COVID-19

RAMALLAH, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Palestinian Minister of Health Dr. Mai Al-Kailah declared on Wednesday recording five deaths and 608 new infection cases with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Palestinian territories over the last 24 hours.
The minister, in a press statement, said 655 of the patients recovered during the same time.
However, 61 patients including 18 on respirators, are still languishing at intensive care units, amid life support apparatuses.
The pandemic which first broke out in Wuhan, central China late last year, has spilled over to many nations worldwide including the Middle East.
Latest caseload of global infections is estimated 100 million, in addition to 55.4 million recovery cases in addition to 2.16 million mortalities. (end) nq.rk
