KUWAIT, Jan 27 (KUNA) --

1971 -- Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East is established with a capital of around KD 70.4 million.

2004 -- Former Member of Parliament Mubarak Al-Daboos passes away at the age of 74. Al-Daboos was a member in the first legislative session of 1963, the third in 1967 and the fifth in 1981 2012 -- Kuwait signs an agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to which it contributes USD 10 million to the agency for the establishment of a nuclear fuel bank.

2013 -- Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) and its partners sign a deal with an international consortium to establish USD nine billion oil refinery and petrochemical complex in northern Vietnam.

2018 -- Kuwait donates USD 2.4 million to various specialized UN funds and agencies in support of the international body.

2020 -- The 19th Asian Handball tournament concludes in Kuwait with Qatar crowned as champions after beating South Korea by 33-21 goals. The tournament's top teams qualified to the 2021 World championship held in Egypt. (end) gta
