US records almost 189,000 new coronavirus cases, 3,955 deaths

WASHINGTON, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- The US recorded 188,952 new coronavirus cases and 3,955 virus-related deaths in the past 24 hours, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The tally showed that the confirmed cases nationwide reached 24,627,882 cases and at least 410,105 deaths.
Furthermore, 119,927 people are currently hospitalized with coronavirus in the US, according to the Covid Tracking Project.
Meanwhile, more than 17.5 million coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered in the US, whereas about 2.4 million people have received both doses, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (end) si
