CAIRO, Jan 20 (KUNA) -- The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population reported on Wednesday that 789 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and 51 patients succumbed to it over the past 24 hours.
The figures took the country's tally to 158,963 infections and 8,747 deaths, the ministry's spokesman Dr. Khaled Mujahed noted in a press release.
Up to 511 patients have been discharged from hospitals, bringing the overall recoveries to 124,605, he added. (end)
