China confirms 109 COVID-19 cases

KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- The Chinese health authorities announced Monday 109 new positive cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) of which 93 cases were local infections, while no deaths were recorded in the mainland in the past 24 hours.
Xinhua News Agency quoted the National Health Commission as saying in a statement total infections in the Chinese mainland rose to 88,336, and deaths remained at 4,634, while the total of cases from abroad reached 4,518.
It added that 13 people have left tge hospitals in the past 24 hours after their recovery, bringing the total of recoveries to 82,400 people, while 1,301 patients are still recieving treatment. (end) mab.gaa
