ABU DHABI, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) suffered five additional deaths with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 3,453 new infection cases with the contagion during past 24 hours.
The UAE health department said in a press release on Sunday death toll climbed to 745 and contamination cases to as high as 253,261, adding that the health authorities recorded 3,268 fresh recovery cases, putting the recuperated tally at 225,374.
These cases were logged as a result of conducting more than 162,000 new swab tests for diverse segments of nationals and residents of the country.
All the cases are in stable condition, receiving required health treatment and care. (end)
