Italy suffers 477 virus-related deaths, 16,146 infections

ROME, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- Italy on Friday reported 477 coronavirus-induced deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 81,325.
In a statement, the Italian ministry of health said it registered 16,146 more cases in the same period, bringing the overall to 2,352,000.
As many as 18,979 people recovered from the disease in the same period, pushing the total recoveries to 1,713,000, it noted.
Up to 2,522 cases are intensive care units, it pointed out.
Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said the number of people who received coronavirus vaccines surpassed two million. (end) mn.hss.hm
