Coalition shoots down three Houthi drones targetting Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen has shot down three explosive aerial drones launched by Houthi militia, targetting a civilian-populated city in Saudi Arabia, its spokesman said on Friday.
"Joint Coalition forces have successfully intercepted and destroyed this morning, Friday, three bomb-laden UAVs launched towards the Kingdom (of Saudi Arabia)," Brig Gen Turki Al-Malki said in a statement carried by Saudi Arabia's state news agency, SPA.
The projectiles originated from Yemen's western Red Sea coastal Hodeida Governorate, he mentioned.
The general accused the Houthi group of continuing to "violate the Stockholm Agreement" saying these repeated attacks represent a "credible threat to regional and international security." He went on to warn that the Coalition would continue to "undertake all appropriate procedures" to handle these "hostile, terrorist acts" in accordance with international humanitarian law, while continuing to support global political efforts to end the coup and reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen.
