1977 -- Musician Ahmad Al-Zinjebari passes away at the age of 60. He was a pioneer of Kuwaiti songs.
1991 -- US Senate authorizes President George H.W. Bush to use power against Iraq if it did not withdraw its forces from Kuwait by January 15.
1994 -- Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issues a decree to put the free art atelier, the administration of archeology and museums, administration of theater, Alam Al-Fikr magazine, department of Arabic heritage, publications of the international theater and public arts center under the umbrella of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) instead of the Ministry of Information.
2013 -- Kuwait women shooting team wins Sheikh Fahad Al-Salem GCC tournament held in Kuwait, seizing six gold medals, five silver and two bronze.
2014 -- Media figure Amal Jaafar passes away at the age of 71. She was the first female presenter to join Kuwait Television on its first broadcast in 1961.
2014 -- Sheikh Fahad Talal Al-Sabah wins election as the First Deputy President of the Asian JuJitsu Federation (AJF), after polls held in the UAE with the participation of 24 countries.
2015 -- Shooters Abdullah Al-Terqi and Fuhaid Al-Daihani are placed in the sixth and seventh place in the international ranking of the best 10 shooters in the skeet and trap shooting categories.
2016 -- Salmiya Sporting Club wins the the Crown Prince Football Cup after defeating Kuwait Sporting Club 1-0. (end) gta
