Kuwait Red Crescent calls for joining voluntary work

KUWAIT, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer has called for encouraging citizens to partake in voluntary tasks.
Dr. Al-Sayer, in a statement marking the International Volunteer Day which falls tomorrow Saturday, indicated that the occasion brings into recollections "great accomplishments" by the volunteers over the past year.
He praised in particular those who worked under the KRCS umbrella, serving devoutly in the relief and humanitarian realms The KRCS chief called for expanding the culture of volunteering and shedding further light on necessity of free of charge tasks.
The International Volunteer Day constitutes a message of appreciation for the volunteers, he said, noting that such efforts contribute to development at local and international levels. (end) okw.rk
