Kuwait sees 231 new COVID-19 cases, three fatalities

KUWAIT, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait on Sunday logged 231 new coronavirus infections to raise the total 142,426, while three fatalities recorded over the past 24 hours upped its death toll from the outbreak to 878, the health ministry said.
The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 5,135, with 75 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, who revealed that some 4,827 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,091,469.
The ministry had earlier reported that some 524 more people had recovered from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 136,413.
He went on to urge citizens and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. (Pickup previous) mak.sam
