OIC welcomes newly-elected Sec-Gen.

JEDDAH, Nov 28 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen on Saturday congratulated Hussein Ibrahim Taha, of the Republic of Chad, on his election as new Secretary-General of the organization for a five-year term as of next November 17.
Dr. Al-Othaimeen wished Taha to succeed in his mission to promote Islamic joint action and serve the interests of the peoples and OIC member countries, according to an OIC statement.
Ambassador Taha has taken the oath of office after being elected during the 47th session of the OIC Foreign Ministers Council that came to a close earlier today in Niamey, the capital city of Nigeria. (end) nsa.rg.gb
