Two Indian security personnel killed in Jammu, Kashmir militant attack

NEW DELHI, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- Indian police sources said on Thursday that two security men were killed in a militant attack on a quick reaction team of the Indian army in Jammu and Kashmir as the nation paid tributes to the victims of 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
The Press Trust of India said quoting local police that the militants attacked the Indian security men at Parimpora on the outskirts of state capital Srinagar resulting in the killing of two personnel.
Following the attack the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the militants.
The attack came amid tight security arrangements in sensitive areas as India paid tribute to the victims of Mumbai terror attacks.
At least 166 people including security officials had been killed on 26th November 2008 when militants attacked several places in Indian financial capital Mumbai.
New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding the armed groups in Kashmir, claims which Islamabad denies. (end) atk
