Israel releases Palestinian prisoners after prolong hunger strike

RAMALLAH, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- The Israeli authorities released on Thursday Maher Al-Akhras, 49, a prisoner who was on a 103-day-hunger strike.
A statement by the Palestinian prisoners club indicated that Al-Akhras was admitted to a hospital in Nablus city after his release.
Al-Akhras ended his hunger strike, which began last July, to protest his administrative detention.
Administrative detention usually involves incarceration without charge or trial.
There are 350 Palestinian prisoners, including three females, held in administrative detention. (end) nq.gta
