Arab Parliament strongly denounces attack on Saudi oil facility

CAIRO, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- President of the Arab Parliament condemned as "cowardly and terrorist" the attack on an oil facility north Jeddah city, southwest Saudi Arabia, on Monday.
"The criminal act of terrorism is part of design targeting vital economic installations aiming to influence the energy supplies and the global oil market," Adel Al-Asoomi said in a press release.
He urged the international community act urgently to fend off such terrorist acts, and bring to justice their perpetrators and supporters whether individuals, groups or states.
Al-Asoomi expressed confidence in the ability of Saudi Arabia to protect its vital economic facilities and respond firmly to terrorist groups.
He renewed the Arab Parliament's full solidarity with the Kingdom in whatever measures it might take to protect its security and stability.
Earlier today, a spokesman of the Saudi Ministry of Energy said a projectile hit near an offloading platform at Aramco's oil distribution terminal in Jizan, north Jeddah, at 3:50 am. without causing any casualties. (end) ms..mfm.gb
