Kuwait condemns Houthis' targeting of Saudi oil facility

KUWAIT, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced in strongest terms the targeting by the Yemeni Houthi group of an oil facility to the north of Jeddah city, southwest Saudi Arabia, on Monday.
"The persistence of such criminal and sinful acts against civilian lives and infrastructure as well as global energy supplies aims to destabilize the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the entire region, which requires a firm response from the international community," the Ministry said in a press release.
"The UN Security Council, in particular, must act to deter the perpetrators of such acts with a view to protecting the world peace and security," the statement underscored.
The State of Kuwait stands by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabial and fully supports whatever measures it might take to protect its security and stability, it added, expressing best wishes for the Kingdom and its brotherly people. (end) msa.gb
