UN chief blasts missile attack on Saudi oil facility

NEW YORK, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern over the reported missile attack on Aramco oil facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for which the Yemeni Houthi militias claimed responsibility.
"The Secretary-General recalls that attacks targeting civilian targets and infrastructure violate international humanitarian law," Guterres said on Monday in a statement attributable to his spokesperson.
"The Secretary-General calls upon all actors to exercise maximum restraint and to demonstrate a serious commitment to engage in the UN-facilitated political process and reach a negotiated political settlement to end the conflict and the suffering of the Yemeni people," according to the statement.
Earlier today, a spokesman of the Saudi Ministry of Energy said a projectile hit near a floating offloading platform at Aramco's oil distribution terminal in Jizan, north Jeddah, at 3:50 am. without causing any casualties. (end) asf.gb
