Algeria confirms 19 Covid-19 deaths, 1,005 infections

ALGIERS, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- The Algerian Health Ministry reported on Monday 19 coronavirus (Covid-19) fatalities and 1,005 new infections over the last 24 hours.
The fresh infections pushed the mortality rate and total confirmed cases in this north African country to 2,294 and 75,867 respectively, Spokesperson for Covid-19 Monitoring and Follow-up Committee Dr. Djamel Fourar said during a daily virus update.
However, the count of cured virus patients went up by 627 to 49,421, while 46 patients were still in intensive care units, he noted. (end) mr.mt
