ROME, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- Italian health authorities said on Sunday that the number of active Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases has topped 800,000, placing Italy in the world's third rank for virus infections.
As many as 28,337 patients were recorded over the last 24 hours, raising the total to 1,408,868, while the count of active cases rose to 805,947, according to the daily update of the ministry.
The death rate due to the highly contagious virus rose by 562 to 49,823, the ministry added. (end) mn.mt
