Kuwaitis in Turkey urged to avoid areas affected by quake

(WITH GEO-TURKEY-QUAKE-CONSUL) ANKARA, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwaitآ’s Ambassador to Turkey Ghassan Al-Zawawi on Friday appealed to Kuwaiti nationals in Turkey to be vigilant and keep way from the areas affected by the quake that hit the country earlier in the day.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Zawawi affirmed the safety of all Kuwaiti citizens in Izmir city hit by the earthquake.
The embassy has not received any complaints about the injury of any Kuwaiti in the quake so far, he said.
He appealed to Kuwaitis in Izmir to communicate with the embassy in emergency at: 00905331648479.
Al-Zawawi offered his sincere condolences to the Turkish people over the victims of the quake, praying to Allah to help the wounded recover rapidly.
Earlier in the day, Turkish emergency and disaster department reported a 6.6-magnitude earthquake in Aegean Sea off Izmir city, west of Turkey, that led to the killing of six persons and wounding of 202 others. (end) rs.hm
