Britain suffers 280 virus-related deaths, over 23,000 new infections

LONDON, Oct 29 (KUNA) -- Britain on Thursday reported 280 deaths from the novel coronavirus and 23,065 more infections in 24 hours.
The new figures raised the death toll and the caseload to 45,955 and 965,000 respectively, the British Ministry of Health said in a press statement.
Meanwhile, authorities in Wales began imposing a full curfew as of last Friday until November 9 in order to stop the spread of the virus.
Moreover, First Minister in Wales Mark Drakeford said that the curfew includes staying at home except for necessary conditions, and banning family visits and gatherings inside and outside houses, in addition to the closure of commercial shops except for those selling food and basic materials.
He pointed to the closure of schools, universities, houses of worship, sports clubs and all unnecessary activities, stressing the commitment of citizens to these measures. (end) mrn.hm
