ANKARA, Oct 29 (KUNA) -- Turkey on Thursday strongly deplored the stabbing act in Notre Dame Basilica church in Nice, south of France.
"There can be no reason to excuse the killing of a human being and justify violence," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. "It is obvious that those who carried out such a brutal attack in a sacred place of worship have never benefited from religious, human or moral values." The statement stressed Turkeyآ’s solidarity with French people in the face of "terrorism" and violence as France lost some its citizens, within the framework of confronting different kinds of "terror".
It extended condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a rapid recovery for the injured.
The stabbing incident happened earlier in the day resulting in the killing of three persons, while police announced the arrest of the attacker. (end) rs.hm
