CBB official seeks closer cooperation with Arab blood banks

KUWAIT, Oct 28 (KUNA) - Director of blood transfusion services dept. at Kuwait Central Blood Bank (KCBB) highlighted the need to promote cooperation among Arab blood banks in the areas of training and exchange of data.
Effective exchanges of records could play a central life-saving role in case of accidents and a second wave of Covid-19, particularly when it comes to rare blood types, Dr. Reem Al-Rawdhan said Wednesday.
She made the comments in an address to the 19th meeting of the Arab organization of blood transfusion services, an affiliate of the Secretariat of the Arab League.
The meeting, convened online on Tuesday and Wednesday, renewed Morocco's presidency of the organization.
Al-Rawdhan briefed the conferees on Kuwait's experience in mobilizing blood donors and keeping sufficient stocks of blood plasma during the combat against the Covid-19 pandemic. (end) mak.rj.gb
