Germany: 24 additional people die due to COVID-19

BERLIN, Oct 26 (KUNA) -- Germany declared on Monday that 24 people died due to infection with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in addition to recording 8,685 contamination cases during the past hours.
The government Robert Koch Institute said in its daily update that total number of mortalities caused by the germ reached 10,056 and infections 437,855.
Germany along with other European nations has re-tightened precautionary measures against the pandemic amid resurgence of the communicable disease across the continent.
The virus first appeared in central China late last year and soon mushroomed globally claiming more than one million lives. (end) anj.rk
