LONDON, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Britain on Saturday announced 224 coronavirus-related fatalities and 23,012 more infections in the last 24 hours.
Todayآ’s figures pushed the death toll to 44,745 and the overall infections to 854,000, the British Department of Health said in a statement.
Meanwhile, authorities in Wales began imposing a full curfew from Friday until November 9 in order to stop the spread of the virus.
Moreover, First Minister in Wales Mark Drakeford said that the curfew includes staying at home except for necessary conditions, and banning family visits and gatherings inside and outside houses, in addition to the closure of commercial shops except for those selling food and basic materials.
He pointed to the closure of schools, universities, houses of worship, sports clubs and all unnecessary activities, stressing the necessity of citizensآ’ commitment to these measures. (end)
