Bahrain welcomes US plan to remove Sudan from terror list

KUWAIT, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The Bahraini Foreign Ministry on Tuesday welcomed the US administration's decision to remove Sudan from the terrorism list.
In a press statement, the ministry lauded the US positive step as backing the praiseworthy efforts of the Sudanese transitional government, and as serving Sudan's security and stability.
The ministry also voiced the kingdom's appreciation for US endeavors to open new horizons for relations with Sudan.
US President Donald Trump said Monday that Sudan has agreed to pay to American "terror victims" and that he would remove the country from the "Terrorism List" once the payments have been made.
"GREAT news! New government of Sudan, which is making great progress, agreed to pay USD 335 MILLION to US terror victims and families," Trump tweeted. (end) hmd.mt
