Yemeni officials laud late Amir's wisdom, appreciate support

ADEN, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- Some Yemeni officials and ministers have offered sincere condolences over the demise of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, lauding his eternal experiment, and wise national, humanitarian and political stances.
Yemen's Vice-President Ali Mohsen Saleh said the late Amir made great efforts to his people, nation and the whole world, describing his as "wise and politician".
The Yemeni leadership and people expressed their great appreciations to the noble efforts by the late Amir in all domains towards Yemen and Yemenis so as to achieve peace in "our country", he said.
Speaker of Yemen's parliament Sultan Al-Borkani described the late Amir as a "wise leader and the Arab reference", saying his death was a great loss to Kuwait, and both Arab and Islamic nations.
"The late Amir helped us in all steps and times. He was obsessed with Yemen's concern since 1962 when he visited Sanaa, congratulating Yemenis on the country's revolution on September 23," he added.
Until the last minutes before his death, the late Amir made efforts and offered helping hands to save Yemen and help it enjoy peace, stability, security and development, he noted.
Meanwhile, Yemeni presidential advisor Ahmad Obeid bin Daghr said that the Arabs and whole world have lost a wise leader who left eternal marks in the international relations and made great accomplishments to his people.
Bin Daghr, also former prime minister, added that the Arabs knew the late Amir as one of their great leaders who served firmly their national issues, topped with the Palestinian cause, noting that His Highness the late Amir was highly respected by the Arab nations while leading Kuwait's policy and ruling the country.
He pointed out that there are several noble stances of Kuwait, as it supported the independence of southern Yemen, and backed its unity, security and stability. He stated that Kuwait has backed Yemen over the recent years and the Arab coalition to support legitimacy in the country.
Furthermore, Yemeni presidential advisor Abdulmalek Al-Mekhlafi said the late Amir was a "wise man" who loved his country, people, nation and humanity.
He added that during Kuwait-hosted talks on Yemen the late Amir was very keen on the success of the negotiations and the return of peace to Yemen, noting that he made every effort and met with the two delegations several times for this purpose.
"I can neither forget the late Amir's words, wisdom, nor pain when the talks failed. He was keen on Yemen and peace," he said.
In addition, Yemeni presidential adviser Nasr Taha Mustafa said Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad left big marks on the regional level when he served as minister of foreign affairs and several others when he assumed power of the beloved Kuwait.
He noted that Kuwait has been a great cultural beacon, and an important political one under the leadership of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad.
Former Yemen's former Vice-President and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah said history will preserve the late Amir's great endeavors to maintain the unity of the Arab nation and keep it away from wars as well as help its peoples enjoy security and peace.
For his part, Yemeni Minister of Local Administration in Yemen Abdul Raqeeb Saif Said that His Highness the late Amir was named as a "Humanitarian Leader" for his active role and support to all Arab, national and international organizations working in the humanitarian field across the world. Fateh, also chairman of the Higher Committee for Relief, stressed that the deseeded backed Yemeni people in all phases and relief campaigns, including 'Kuwait beside you' that has been carrying out several relief, health and education projects across the country.
Yemeni Information Minister Moamer al-Iryani offered his condolences to the State of Kuwait, the government and people over the death of the late Amir.
"With the demise of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, we have lost one of the greatest Arab leaders whose names would be immortalized in history," he said. (end) sns.hm
