Qatar Amir describes late Kuwaiti Amir as "great leader"

DOHA, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim Al-Thani expressed his sorrow and commiserations over the passing of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, desribing the late Amir as a "great leader." In an Amiri Diwan statement, Sheikh Tamim said "he (the late Amir) was a great leader, who was characterised by his wisdom, moderation and far-sightedness." The Qatari Amir went on to declare state mourning accross the country, saying that flags would be flown at half mast in honour of the late ruler.
"He devoted his lifetime efforts to serving his nation, calling for dialogue and the solidarity and unity of Arab countries and defended the just causes of Islamic nations," added Sheikh Tamim.
He went on to pray for mercy on the soul of the deceased leader, and for him to be given the best of rewards for his contributions to Kuwait and the Islamic region, expressing his sympathy to the Kuwaiti ruling family and the Kuwaiti, Arab and Muslim people over the loss. (end) nnd.sd
