Arab League mourns late Kuwaiti Amir

CAIRO, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul Gheit mourned Tuesday the passing way of Kuwait Amir His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, describing him as a "unique Arab leader." Abul Gheit in a statement said the Arab world has lost an iconic leader who was known for his wisdom "and commitment to dialogue as a mean to solve thorny problems." He extended condolences for the Kuwaiti people for the passing away of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad.
Abul Gheit said the UN's Humanitarian Leader title of His Highness the Amir was well-deserved.
He ordered the flag to be flown at half mast for three days. (end) ms.bs
