Kuwait's Karam wins second position at Doha Diamond League

DOHA, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Yosef Karam won the second place in the 400m race in 45.72 in the final round of the 2020 Doha Diamond League.
US Kahmari Montgomery came first in 45.55, while Qatari Nasser Abbas came third in 45.96 in the same championship that witnessed a wide participation of many male and female athletes all over the world.
During a telephone call with KUNA, president of Kuwait Athletics Association Sayar Al-Enzi expressed pride for this achievement which will be an additional one to the federation.
He lauded Karam's big efforts made in preparation for the tournament, despite the novel coronavirus and the health preventive measures taken in Kuwait that prevented from conducting continued training.
He also extolled efforts by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri, Director General of the Public Authority for Sport (PAS) Hamoud Felaiteh and his deputy Saqar Al-Mulla.
Meanwhile, Karam expressed his happiness for winning the second position in this global championship.
He said that partaking in this event fully supported him in the future participations, hoping for getting better results in the next tournaments.
He said he dedicated this achievement to the political leadership in the State of Kuwait, the KAA, the PAS and the Kuwait Olympic Committee.
The League includes 117 professional male and female athletes all over the world that are competing in 12 contests. (end) nnd.hm
