Yemen Pres. calls on int'l community to end suffering of Yemenis

NEW YORK, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi called Thursday on the international community to work and end the suffering of Yemenis through decisive and effective pressure on Houthis to implement Security Council resolutions.
President Hadi remarks came during a recorded speech delivered by him at the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Yemeni leader highlighted the suffering of Yemen over the past five years due to the war and the tragic economic conditions, including extending their hand for peace and "did everything in our power to support and facilitate the efforts of the United Nations and its envoy to our country, Martin Griffiths, to save the country and reach a lasting and comprehensive peace." Hadi referred to the commitment to a ceasefire and to make concessions over the past five years in order to provide an opportunity to resume the peace process, expressing his regret that the terrorist Houthi militia met those efforts with complete obstinacy.
The Yemeni president affirmed that a way has been made in implementing the Riyadh agreement with unlimited support by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, "which is an agreement that aims to achieve stability," especially after what the temporary capital Aden witnessed in August of last year. (end) asf.mb
